Sagaponack Farm Distillery — Highlighting Homegrown Collaborations

Overlooking a field and next to a sixth-generation farm, Sagaponack Farm Distillery’s Tasting Room & Patio has deep Sagaponack roots. Growing from the area’s natural abundance and approaching its 10-year anniversary in 2023, the Distillery has long promoted land stewardship and local ingredients as the foundation for its spirits. 

The scenic and bright Tasting Room & Patio, formerly a dairy barn, is an homage to the location’s history and majesty—from the exposed, unfinished wooden beams to the historic Bridgehampton–Sag Harbor railroad tie footrest. With seating for large gatherings and children welcome, the Tasting Room is an excellent opportunity to experience Sagaponack’s farming history today.

Paralleling the commitment to Sagaponack, the Tasting Room collaborates with many homegrown businesses. Throughout the year, the Tasting Room hosts collaborative events with contributions from local partners across the East End. The afternoon and early evenings successfully brought the community together to celebrate local offerings and the gorgeous Sagaponack summer air.

Collaborations highlight Sagaponack Farm Distillery’s locally focused mission to promote the many unique and vibrant offerings from the Sagaponack soil. Their motto says it best, “From Seed to Glass, 100% Sagaponack,” their spirits and cocktails are created with ingredients cultivated directly from the farm.

Over the Summer, beer enthusiasts enjoyed a host of beer-infused cocktails from the new Springs Brewery, specially designed by Springs Brewmasters Lindsay Reichart and Gunnar Burke. I am glad I didn’t miss out on these one-of-a-kind drinks! Hopefully, they will be back again this Fall or next summer so I can get another “Lazy Farmer.”

Not just local libations, events have also included hearty, hand-made sandwiches from Plate in Progress. Chef Juliana White, a Sagaponack native, built a unique menu from ingredients grown at the nearby Marilee Farmstand. My favorite, “The Pickley Veg,” was so popular that it sold out before I could buy a second one to bring home for lunch. 

Live music on the patio buzzes with infectious energy across the lawn. Who doesn’t smile when seeing children and their parents dancing to live music? The Tasting Room frequently hosts live music from many acts, including The Bones of J.R. Jones. Every performance that I saw was family-friendly and respectful to all listeners.

Nestled in the heart of Sagaponack on 369 Sagg road, the Tasting Room & Patio is still open this Fall,  Friday–Saturday from 1–7pm and Sunday from 1–6pm.
