Renowned guitar players John Sebastian and David Grisman are set to perform at the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 8 p.m.
Sebastian and Grisman began performing together while enrolled in New York University during the 1960s, where they made their first recording together as members of the Even Dozen Jug Band. Four decades later the musicians reconnected, collaborating on acoustic albums and duets, including folk tunes, blues, classical sounds and originals.
Sebastian, a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, played a large role in the 60s rock revolution, where he incorporated American folk practices into rock originals. His hits include “Darling Be Home Soon,” “Do You Believe in Magic,” “Nashville Cats,” and his solo hit, “Welcome Back Kotter.”
Grisman led an acoustic music revolution with his “Dawg music,” a unique combination of acoustic bluegrass, folk and jazz. He is well known for his collaborations with Stephane Grapelli and Jerry Garcia.
Tickets range from $55 to $75.
