Les Ballet Trockadero de Monte Carlo Set To Shake Up The Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center

It’s not the most traditional of ballets to grace the stage of The Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center.

Les Ballet Trockadero de Monte Carlo performs classical pieces where all of the characters are played by men. Commonly referred to as “The Trocks,” the group will be performing on Sunday, July 7th at 8:30 p.m at The WHBPAC’s Mollie Parnis Auditorium. Tickets will be $55 to 85.

“Let’s face it—they’re men in tutus so no matter what they do, they’re gonna be funny,” said Jodi Giambrone, the manager of public relations and artist relations. “I would say you can expect hilarious excerpts from Swan Lake with “ballerinas” with names like “Maya Thickenthithya” and “Minnie VanDriver.”

They take part in charities largely related to helping people with AIDS such as Dancers Responding to AIDS, Classical Action and more. They also give money to local ballet theaters in the Northeast, such as The Rochester City Ballet and Connecticut Ballet Theatre.

The Trocks have participated in more than 75 tours in the past year. Although the group usually plays for larger audiences, they will be adapting part of their show for The WHBPAC’s 425-seat auditorium.

“We scale them down but never taking away from the charm,” Giambrone said.
