Joan and George Hornig opened their home to the Bob Woodruff Foundation to host Hamptons Stands for Heroes, which celebrates the extraordinary work of the Bob Woodruff Foundation. While reporting on U.S. and Iraqi security forces for ABC’s “World News Tonight,” in 2006, Bob was seriously injured by a roadside bomb that struck his vehicle near in Iraq. Bob underwent multiple surgeries and an extensive rehabilitation process. Miraculously, just 13 months after the explosion, he returned to work as an ABC correspondent.
