What happens when you open a roadside lemonade stand in the Hamptons? If your customers park illegally, the neighbors call the cops, of course.
Jerry Seinfeld, his son Julian and two of Julian’s friends attempted to raise money in support of Baby Buggy, a charity that Jessica Seinfeld founded, but the endeavor was halted after someone called the cops to report illegally parked cars, who had stopped to purchase a refreshing glass of lemonade.
When an officer responded to the call, they told Seinfeld and the kids that the family-run stand wasn’t legal and needed to be shut down.
Although the pop-up East Hampton fundraiser is now over, Jessica thanked patrons on her Instagram page, posting a picture of the stand’s volunteers getting “arrested” with the caption of, “Lemonade dreams crushed by local neighbor but not before raising lots of money for @loverecycled. Thanks to all of our customers and big tippers!”
