"It just seems right to celebrate Father's Day and kick-off this season with ballads and balladeers. Darren and his guests will also remind us that we have so much to look forward to in the coming season - drama, comedy, nostalgia, music, and fantasy," said Michael Disher.
"The role of artists in society today is more important than ever in terms of seeing through the fog of political rhetoric and confronting the realities of our society and our culture," said Warren Strugatch.
The Man in the Ceiling is a show that will stir emotions, make you laugh and in the end leave you gleeful.
"The 2016 Presidential campaign may have been a shocking and unexpected campaign to many, but mudslinging and provocative slogans were always a part of the political landscape," noted John Eilertsen.
"I am thrilled this new musical will open the 2017 Mainstage Season at Bay Street, continuing to affirm our deep commitment to the production of new works for the stage," said Scott Schwartz.
"Songwriters share the proceeds of each concert with a local charity of their choice - they also share what has inspired them to write their songs," noted Nancy Remkus.
