They have a fully stocked game room with a foosball table, pool table, Jenga, and so much more! On a warm summer night, you can challenge your friends to an outdoor table tennis match.
Their Asian cuisine is exquisitely refreshing and delicious. You may see familiar dishes like grilled lamb chops, dumplings, and bolognese, but Kizzy T’s Executive Chef Jevohni Brown has truly made each dish his own.
Kizzy T’s Executive Chef Jevohni Brown, better known as Chef Prince, helms the kitchen at this new East Hampton hotspot. A talented young chef hailing from Jamaica, Chef Prince moved to the Hamptons to pursue his culinary dreams. Mentored by top local chefs, he transitioned from a marketing degree, to the kitchen, inspired by his grandmother’s culinary influence. Chef Prince’s innovative approach and deep-rooted passion for cooking shines through in every dish he creates, contributing to Kizzy T’s distinctive and flavorful new menu.
Hamptons.com sat down with Chef Prince to discuss his culinary journey, Kizzy T’s and the Hamptons.
When did you first realize you wanted to be a chef?
It was when I went home and realized being in the kitchen all day felt like spending time with family. Making food all day doesn’t feel like work.
What’s your favorite dish to cook and why?
I enjoy cooking steaks and anything seafood because those are delicacies and they require skill to prepare perfectly.
Can you walk us through the process of coming up with a new recipe?
So each recipe requires a different format. Depending on the recipe, I ask for advice from local experts, then I fuse my personal experience with the dish. Most commonly, I take the classic style of doing the dish and make mouthwatering adjustments that bring out more of the ingredients and then I taste test each with my team.
Talk to us about Kizzy T’s menu?
Kizzy T’s menu was definitely a fun one to create with David Hart. It’s always great to build a menu with your mentor as they guide you to create staple Izakaya dishes with a modern twist and flair to set ourselves apart as a premier Asian restaurant and lounge in the Hamptons.
How does Kizzy T’s stand out in the Hamptons Restaurant Scene?
You have to be here to experience the food, cocktails, game room, along with the outside table tennis and outdoor dining. Simply put, it’s an unmatched Izakaya dining experience.
What’s your favorite place in the Hamptons?
For tacos, my go-to is K Pasa in Sag Harbor and for steaks it’s Maverick’s in Montauk. For sushi, it’s Sen in Sag Harbor and for burgers it’s Smokey Buns in East Hampton, which just opened.
