Maureen’s Haven Homeless Outreach Program Holding 2nd Annual 5K & 1 Mile Family Run In Riverhead

“We are excited to be hosting the 2nd Annual 5K & 1 Mile Family Run at Stotzky Park in Riverhead to benefit our mission,” expressed Tara M. Murphy, Program Manager of Maureen’s Haven Homeless Outreach. “Register today to be part of the race day fun.”

On Sunday, October 26, 2014, runners and walkers of all ages will join Maureen’s Haven Homeless Outreach for the 2nd Annual 5K & 1 Mile Family Run, which will start at Stotzky Park in Riverhead. Registration begins at 8 a.m., followed by the 1-Mile at 9 a.m. and the 5K Run/Walk at 9:30 a.m. After the race, stick around for a pancake breakfast, face painting, and the awards ceremony. Just Finish Inc. will provide the race timing.

To support fundraising efforts, Maureen’s Haven and the Southampton J.McLaughlin Boutique (2 & 12 Jobs Lane, Southampton) are hosting the 2nd Annual 5K Kickoff Party on Saturday, October 11th from 4 to 6 p.m. Register for the race at J.McLaughlin and you’ll receive a discount on your 5K registration fee.

As an added bonus for those taking part in the 2nd Annual 5K & 1 Mile Family Run, for every $100 a participant raises, they’ll be entered into a raffle to win an iPod nano. The highest fundraiser will take home a Kindle. Early registration is $30 and $55 for the 1-mile family fun run. On the day of the race, registration is $35 and $60 for the family fun run.
