Nothing says holiday spirit like taking the time to give back to a local charity. On the morning of Thanksgiving Eve, Southampton Hospital’s Director of Volunteers, Gerry Minerva and Hospital Volunteer Ben DiLorenzo took a very special trip to drop off an extra important package to the Human Resources of the Hamptons (HRH) food pantry that will help several East End families.
The delivery included nonperishable foods collected during the Hospital’s food drive and also 40 turkeys. Kerry Lewendoski, Executive Director of HRH, and her volunteers were ready to collect the generous donation through a special chute leading to the basement storage area of the pantry.
The Hospital’s food drive for non-perishable food items will continue through Tuesday, December 23th. Items can be left at the donation container located in the Meeting House Café (lower level). Food will be distributed to families in need on the East End.
Southampton Hospital is located at 240 Meeting House Lane in Southampton. For more information, call 631-726-8336 or visit www.southamptonhospital.org.
