Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons (ARF) will be hosting a few events for animal lovers on the East End this July. On Friday, July 8th, join ARF as they team up with Dylan Lauren of Dylan’s Candy Bar and Marisol and Rob Thomas for an Adopt-a-Thon. The event will take place at Dylan’s Candy Bar (52 Main Street, East Hampton) from 2 to 4 p.m.
Dylan Lauren, founder and CEO of Dylan’s Candy Bar, began her non-profit, Dylan’s Candy BarN, as a way to show her commitment and support of animal welfare. She hosts fundraising benefits to spread awareness and raise money for charities, such as ARF, to encourage adopting rather than shopping for pets and assisting in rescue efforts.
Singer-songwriter Rob Thomas and his wife Marisol founded Sidewalk Angels Foundation, a not-for-profit organization committed to “providing critically needed funds and support to grassroots groups across the country that work diligently in animal rescue and advocacy,” in 2003.
“We are excited to team up with Dylan’s Candy Bar for the 2nd year in a row and look forward to finding forever homes for some of our dogs,” explained Jamie Berger, Director of Marketing and Communications at ARF. “Be sure to tell all your friends and stop by.”
The Adopt-a-Thon hopes to inspire people to adopt and help find homes for animals in need. All proceeds from the day’s event will benefit ARF.
ARF will host another Adopt-a-Thon, in conjunction with a low cost vaccine clinic, on Saturday, July 16th at the ARF Thrift & Treasure Shop (17 Montauk Highway, Sagaponack). From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., services including rabies, distemper, and bordetella prevention and microchipping will be available for just $10 each for all spayed and neutered pets. The Mobile Adoption Van will also be on-site.
“It is so important to keep your animals up to date on their vaccines, but we know it can be costly at times,” added Berger. “ARF is pleased to be able to offer this low cost service to the community.”
