On Saturday, May 6, The Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons, Inc. (ARF) is commemorating adoption success stories during ARF’s annual Pet Celebration Day and Alumni Reunion.
“It’s one of our favorite days of the year,” noted Jamie Berger, Director of Marketing & Communications at Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons, Inc. (ARF). “We invite all pet lovers with their pets to celebrate with, us especially the former ARFans.”
From 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., all – dogs (on leashes), cats (in carriers) and their human companions – are invited to join Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons, Inc. at the ARF Adoption Center in Wainscott. The free event will feature an agility course, treats – for both pets and people, contests, and the chance to learn more about your beloved family member during “Ask the Behaviorist” with Dr. Barbara Pezzinate. Bela author Michelle Asher Dunn and Privileged Pups artist/author Carol Saxe will be onsite, as will Edwina von Gal, founder of The Perfect Earth Project, who will offer up advice about toxin-free gardening.
Sandy Rapp will entertain the crowd with catchy tunes, and if you need a little caffeine boost to keep up with your energetic four legged friend, pick up a complimentary Hampton Coffee Company beverage, which you should obviously pair with a freshly made donut from the Dreesen’s Donut Truck. And don’t worry, your pet won’t be left out as the Ollie Dog Food will be serving their fresh meals made from real ingredients.
If you haven’t already done so, microchipping, the quickest and most efficient way to reunite a lost pet with its loved ones, will be available at no charge, as will rabies vaccines. However, cats and dogs must be spayed/neutered to receive these complimentary services.
For the ARF staff, Pet Celebration Day always serves as a bittersweet moment where they can reconnect with the many former ARFans in attendance.
“It is always so great to see them with their forever families,” added Berger.
Admission to ARF’s annual Pet Celebration Day and Alumni Reunion is free.
