One of the Hamptons’ most anticipated summer traditions returns to Water Mill on July 25 in support of LGBTQIA+ youth. The annual “SCHOOL’S OUT” cocktail party raises money to ensure that Hetrick-Martin Institute’s young people have the resources they need through the summer months when schools are closed, and resources are scarce. Cocktails are 5:30pm – 7:30pm followed by our VIP ‘Taste of the Hamptons’ Dinner plus an exclusive performance by event co-chair Crystal Waters.  The event has drawn an influential and engaged crowd, with past hosts and attendees including Martha Stewart, Andy Cohen, Rufus Wainwright, Tamron Hall, Countess Luann de Lesseps, Kelly Killoren Bensimon, Thom Filicia, Darren Star, Antoni Porowski, and Candace Bushnell, among others. Hetrick-Martin Institute (HMI) is the nation’s oldest LGBTQIA+ youth organization serving queer and trans youth, primarily of color, between the ages of 13 and 24.

Hamptons Summer 2026 Starts at the Surf Lodge

There are a few places in the Hamptons where you can feel the entire summer happening at once. But, standing on the deck at the Surf Lodge, sunlight and bass bouncing across the waters of Fort Pond in Montauk, the solstice may need to be reconsidered.
