Duryea’s Lobster Deck and Fish Market in Montauk – which was recently renovated and reopened by new owner Marc Rowan – has expanded its offerings by adding a new 1,200 square foot gourmet market. The Market at Duryea’s, which opened in early August, highlights local produce, cheeses, artisanal products, prepared foods, a bakery and a barista station, as well as additional goods.
“The new farmers’ market is the newest addition to Duryea’s long and rich history,” said Steven Jauffrineau. “Our goal is to promote local businesses even more by working with and showcasing local farms and artisans.”
The market’s interior celebrates the locale’s authentic Montauk vibe and pays homage to the historic fish market and lobster deck with a “clean and modern look emphasizing the waterfront location.” The rustic venue is complimented by a high ceiling with exposed wood beams, white walls, open shelving and wood display tables. The look is accentuated by baskets, wooden crates and galvanized buckets that display retail items.
Local artisanal products that will be available at The Market at Duryea’s include: Goodale Farm dairy products such as a cheese, eggs and yogurt; Payard macarons and chocolate bonbons; Lacono Farms and homemade BBQ sauce and teriyaki sauce; Nounos Creamy Greek Yogurt; FOODfitness granola; Mecox Bay Dairy cheese; Fairview Farm jams and pies; Hamptons Salt Company; The Hamptons Honey Company; Backyard Brine artisan pickles; Tate’s Cookies; TeaLeaves loose tea; Dawn’s Delight cookies; Old School Favorites maple covered walnuts; Kriemhild Dairy Farms crème fraiche and butter; Good Water Farms micro greens; Satur Farms fresh produce; Balsam and Bhumi produce; Kerber’s Farm desserts, jams and gift baskets; and Ace Cold Brew artisanal coffee.
The bakery will offer a plethora of tempting freshly baked items like breads, croissants, bagels, pastries and more, and the barista station includes Coperaco Coffee, a boutique coffee served at notable restaurants including Alain Ducasse, made to order or as silos to go. Additionally, there will be fresh flowers and newspapers for sale.
“This is a great opportunity for Duryea’s to extend its offering beyond the seafood market,” added Jauffrineau.
A stop at Duryea’s also allows one stop shopping for a classic Montauk meal – fresh fish from the fish market and fresh local produce, bread and even beer can be found. The Market at Duryea’s is open daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
