“I’m very proud to Co-Chair CTREE at Sebonack and support local children and veterans with disabilities,” shared Tami Maines, who is co-chairing the annual summer event alongside Michelle Farmer.
On Thursday, August 25th, you can join Maines and Farmer, as well as Honorary Chair Kelly Klein, for Horses Changing Lives: CTREE at Sebonack. The cocktail reception and silent auction will support Center for Therapeutic Riding of the East End’s (CTREE) mission of providing therapeutic horseback riding lessons and equine assisted activities to everyone, regardless of visitors ability to pay.
The evening promises to provide a breathtaking sunset over Peconic Bay as guests mingle and enjoy sips from Wolffer Estate Vineyard. The impressive array of silent auction items will include Hermes Americana Manhasset accessories, leather goods from Georgio Armani, Ralph Lauren, Celine, golf packages at Sebonack, The Bridge, shopping experiences at Michelle Farmer and Burberry NYC, Getaways at Dorado Beach Ritz Carlton Reserve, Castello Banfi, St. Barth’s Oceanfront Villa, The Ritz Carlton Grand Cayman and Cayman Airways and so many other lust worthy goods.
“As an equestrian myself I have seen evidence of the amazing impact horses have on individuals with cognitive, physical and emotional disabilities,” added Maines. “I have witnessed the profound life enhancing benefits of equine therapy while local children and veterans with disabilities grab life by the reins and changes begin!”
Activities held at CTREE – which is based in Sagaponack – offer “profound physical benefits in a sensory integration-rich environment, thus providing children and adults with disabilities an unparalleled opportunity to develop skills and confidence.” The not-for-profit is a Premier Accredited member center of Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH), and all instructors are PATH certified.
“All our riders at CTREE have experienced successes,” noted Karen Bocksel, Managing Director/Instructor. “Whether it’s the ability to focus more on schoolwork, be more receptively and verbally communicative, or walk across a field on a horse because the rider’s legs can’t, CTREE’s horses and program are the catalysts for astounding achievements.”
Horses Changing Lives: CTREE at Sebonack will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Tickets to begin at $250.
