A family-friendly fall seafood affair you’re not going to want to miss is taking place at the Westhampton Beach Village Marina over Columbus Day weekend.
On Saturday, October 6, the Kiwanis of Greater Westhampton will once again present the beloved Westhampton Beach OysterFest. From 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., the annual event will offer delicious seafood, as well as plenty of non-seafood options, local brews, entertainment, a kid zone, scenic views, and much more.
“Our 7th Annual Westhampton Beach OysterFest features great seafood from Hamptons restaurants, local craft brews and wine, live bands, and clam chowder and oyster shucking contests, along with pirate shows, sword-fighting lessons and Jester Jim for the kids,” shared Greg Menegio of the Kiwanis of Greater Westhampton.
Participating eateries include Sydney’s Taylor-Made Cuisine, Shuckers Clam & Oyster Bar, and New Moon Cafe, while Westhampton Beach Brewing Company will offer up local craft brews and domestics will be available from Circle M Beverage. There will also be a selection of white and red wines.
The Kid Zone programming will kick-off at 1 p.m. with an interactive pirate show, which returns at 3 p.m. Jester Jim will entertain little ones at 2 p.m. and there will be a riveting sword-fighting lesson at 4 p.m.
OysterFest headliners include A Happy Accident, Too who take the stage at 12:30 p.m. and Yankee Rebel will headline at 3 p.m.
And, since this is OysterFest, there will be a few seafood related competitions. The New England Clam Chowder Contest commences at 2 p.m., followed by an Oyster Shucking Contest at 2:30 p.m.
Admission to the 7th Annual Westhampton Beach OysterFest is a suggested donation to the Kiwanis of either $5 per person or $25 per family, which will support programs serving local children and families that the Kiwanis Club sponsor.
