On Saturday, June 10, A.K.A. National Rosé Day, four premier North Fork wineries – Martha Clara Vineyards, Lenz Winery, Bridge Lane Wines, and Osprey’s Dominion – are joining forces to present a North Fork Rosé Crawl. What better way to spend National Rosé Day than taking part in a self-guided crawl where you will enjoy locally made, deliciously refreshing rosé and special rosé-themed treats?
“We’re psyched for the 2nd year of this event because it got such a positive response last year,” shared Ami Opisso, General Manager, CS, Lieb Cellars and Bridge Lane Wine. “It’s a fun, unique way to celebrate rosé – in the casual spirit of Bridge Lane – on its national holiday.”
There’s certainly a reason that rosé has gained popularity recently as a seasonal sip and the North Fork Rosé Crawl is a great way to learn about and sample local wines. “Rosé’s capture the essence of summer,” noted Jerol Bailey, Director of Sales, The Lenz Winery. “Sunny days at the beach, warm backyard nights, or intimate dinner parties; a glass of rosé is the perfect accompaniment.”
During the North Fork Rosé Crawl, Martha Clara Vineyards will offer their 2016 Solstice Rosé (fruity with notes of watermelon and strawberry), Lenz Winery will present their 2015 Blanc de Noir (a dry, steel-fermented rosé with notes of white and red cherries), Bridge Lane Wines will offer their 2016 Bridge Lane Rosé (bright, light and fresh with notes of peach and cantaloupe), and Osprey’s Dominion will present their 2016 Osprey’s Dominion Rosé (off-dry with raspberry and red cherry flavors).
“It’s also an opportunity to partner up with our friends at some of our neighboring wineries,” explained Opisso. “There are few events like this involving a collaboration between multiple wineries and we’re excited to be changing that.”
So cleanse your palate and be prepared to point out whatever flavors hit your taste buds.
“Our 2015 Blanc De Noir wine also exudes my favorite summer fruits, such as strawberries and red cherries,” added Bailey.
Admission to the North Fork Rosé Crawl is $15, and the crawl will be held from opening to close at all wineries.
