From the outside, the Bridgehampton Library looks kind bland. As you walk down main street in Bridgehampton, your charmed the façade of Pierre’s, but as you pass the library you don’t feel like you have must walk inside and check it out.
But you would be VERY mistaken.
On a random encounter at Java nation, I ran into an employee of the library who recommended I take my 2 year old daughter there. “She will love it, just walk in through the back.”
We headed over to the library and then walked a path to the back where kids where playing on the grass. Immediately, we were greeted by a woman named Ms. T, who was full of energy and smiles. “Welcome to the library! Come and join us!”
Behind the Hampton Library is a little bit of Hamptons kid heaven. There are toys, there are books and there is Ms. T, who is more than happy to do a reading circle with the kids that are there, all of whom were entirely captivated. There is plenty of space to play and the staff is extremely helpful.
I don’t know how I missed it, but I’m glad that I’ve found it. The Hampton Library in Bridgehampton is an absolute gem of a place for parents looking for the answer to the questions, “Where should we go today?”
