Callen-Lorde and SAGE will continue the Hamptons Tea Dance tradition on Saturday, July 16, from 4 to 8 pm at Nova’s Ark Project on Millstone Lane in Water Mill. This vibrant, not-to-be-missed, outdoor celebration draws an impressive crowd of over 1,000 notable LGBTQ+ New Yorkers and their allies – making it the largest LGBTQ+ event in the Hamptons. The event has been a LGBTQ+ tradition in the Hamptons since 1992 and returns this summer for a 30th Anniversary celebration after two years of cancellations due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We are thrilled to be back out in the Hamptons safely celebrating after a grueling two and a half years. As our communities weather continued attacks on our rights, events like this are more important than ever to raise funds to ensure access to safe, affirming health care,” said Wendy Stark, Callen-Lorde’s Executive Director.
“The long-standing tradition of the Hamptons Tea Dance is a great example of LGBTQ+ elders and allies continuing to show up for the community with resilience, strength, and celebration,” said SAGE CEO Michael Adams. “We are thrilled to spend time together to uplift the LGBTQ+ pioneers who have been here since Stonewall, and honor their legacy by refusing to be invisible.”
Event Co-Chairs include Chad Beguelin & Thomas Sleeman, Louis Bradbury & Kenneth Quay, John Cucci, Jeff Gates & Michael Moran, Charles Johnston & John Crocker, Zahur Karim, Ross Moody, Greg E. Schmidt & Alexandre Setta Monteiro, John M. Scott & Richard Reichgut, Barry Skovgaard & Marc Wolinsky, and Glen Troost & Brett Gilbert.
Advanced tickets are $300 and sponsorships starting at $1,000 are available at www.hamptonsteadance.org. The event will feature DJ LINA, who will keep guests dancing all afternoon, cocktails by Tito’s Handmade Vodka, wines by Polaner Selections, and a family friendly kids activity area.
