Post House, set at 31 Long Island Avenue in Sag Harbor, is redefining the fitness studio concept, blending high-performance training with the energy of a live experience. Co-founded by Geno McDermott, Emmy Award–winning producer, Post House brings a fresh perspective to the Hamptons wellness scene. Workouts are designed to feel as dynamic and engaging as the lifestyle that surrounds them.
Built at the intersection of fitness, media, and culture, Post House offers a multi-concept approach with a range of classes and top-tier trainers. The space functions not only as a studio, but as a creative hub where movement, music, and storytelling come together, attracting a mix of locals, visitors, and creatives throughout the season.
As the Hamptons summer unfolds, Post House continues to grow as a go-to Hamptons destination. Geno McDermott spoke about the inspiration behind the brand, what sets it apart on the East End, and how it’s shaping a new kind of wellness experience.
Can you share the story behind Post House and how the concept first came to life?
GM: Post House is a lifestyle brand, fitness and content business founded by Walter Savage and I (Geno McDermott). Its goal is to disrupt the wellness industry by blending luxury markets, which lack premium fitness offerings with high-energy, elite performance training and live production storytelling.
Savage brought a background in celebrity training and proprietary programming, while I (McDermott) brought a career in film and media as an Emmy award winning producer and Hollywood studio executive. Together, we shaped a concept where workouts feel more like experiences than routines.

From the start, Post House was built as a brand-agnostic platform for talent, inviting leading trainers and fitness concepts to operate within one ecosystem rather than limiting the experience to a single methodology.
From inception, Post House has rapidly evolved into an explosive brand and content platform, partnering with leading companies such as Rivian, NOBULL, Evian, and Bloom. It leverages its in-house production capabilities to create culturally relevant, high-impact brand experiences that extend far beyond the studio walls.
How would you describe the philosophy behind Post House and the approach to fitness you’ve created?
GM: Post House is built on the idea that fitness should be high-performance, immersive, and culturally relevant—where training, music, and energy come together in real time. The experience should also be accessible to anyone who lives locally or is just visiting; this is why Post House has avoided expensive, exclusive memberships.
Each class is treated as a live performance led by trainers who act as creators, bringing their own voice, style, and rhythm to the experience. Post House has very few rules.
It’s not just a workout—it’s where performance, wellness, and culture intersect, creating a space that’s as dynamic as it is results-driven. With programming that’s accessible across all fitness levels and preferences, Post House naturally fosters a network-driven sense of community.
Post House focuses on posture-based training and progressive strength work. Can you explain that approach?

GM: Post House’s training philosophy is rooted in progressive strength development paired with posture-focused correction, ensuring clients build strength in a sustainable, functional way. The programming emphasizes proper movement patterns, mobility, and alignment so performance improves not just in the studio, but in everyday life. This approach allows clients to train at a high level while reducing injury risk and building long-term results.
What sets Post House apart from other fitness studios on the East End?
GM: Post House is a multi-concept fitness destination, with multiple modalities running simultaneously across three studios—Personal Training, HIIT, Pilates, Dance, Mat, Barre, and more. It operates as both a fitness studio and a fully integrated content platform, capturing workouts, partnerships, and cultural moments in-house.
The brand-agnostic model allows top trainers and fitness brands to bring their own methodologies into the space, creating unmatched variety and energy. Combined with the founders’ backgrounds in elite training and production, Post House approaches fitness through an entertainment lens, making every class feel like a live experience.
Can you walk us through the types of sessions and classes you offer?
GM: Group classes are the core of the Post House community, ranging from high-intensity strength workouts like House Circuit to sculpt, mat-based training, and partner-led programming.
Signature programming like SavageBody, Sculpt by Danielle, KKSweat, Pvolve, and Forma anchors the experience, delivering performance-driven results.
Private and semi-private training offers fully customized programming built around individual goals, combining strength, mobility, and recovery. Clients can move seamlessly across modalities through a flexible, no-membership model.
How does the Sag Harbor setting influence the energy and experience of Post House?
GM: Being rooted in Sag Harbor places Post House at the center of the Hamptons’ cultural and social energy. The studio naturally attracts a mix of founders, creatives, celebrities and tastemakers, shaping the atmosphere both inside and outside the space. Especially in the summer, that energy expands beyond the studio—creating a true community hub where fitness and culture intersect.

What has the response been like from the Hamptons community?
GM: Post House has built a strong, year-round community in Sag Harbor that continues to grow. During the summer season, that foundation expands with an influx of new clients, amplifying the energy that defines the experience. Both locals and seasonal visitors connect through the unique blend of fitness, culture, and community.
How do your on-demand and digital offerings complement the in-person experience?
GM: Post House was designed to extend beyond a physical location into a content-driven platform. Through livestream and on-demand classes, clients can access the same energy and programming from anywhere. This allows the brand to scale the experience while staying true to its core idea of fitness as entertainment.
What are Post House clients typically looking to achieve?
GM: Clients come to Post House for high-performance results in a high-energy environment. They value access to top-tier trainers and diverse programming, all in one location. Beyond fitness, they are seeking a community and cultural experience that aligns with their lifestyle.
Is there anything you’re particularly excited about for the upcoming summer season?
GM: Post House continues to build on its foundation with thoughtful brand partnerships and activations that enhance the in-studio experience. Summer represents a moment when the full Post House ecosystem comes to life at scale.
Looking ahead, what’s next for Post House?
GM: Post House is focused on expanding as both a physical destination into other luxury markets such as NYC, Nashville and Miami while also bolstering the content platform, bringing the experience to a broader audience.
This includes new programming, partnerships, and continued evolution at the intersection of fitness, culture, and storytelling.
Is there anything else you’d like to share?
GM: At its core, Post House is about creating an environment where performance, creativity, and community come together—and where every workout feels like part of something bigger.
