Internationally Known Daahoud Salim Quintet Makes U.S. Debut at Hamptons Jazz Fest

On Saturday, January 14, the Southampton Arts Center and Hamptons Jazz Fest, in collaboration with Jazz at Lincoln Center On The Road Series will present the internationally known Daahoud Salim Quintet for an evening of jazz at 7 PM.

This international quintet, led by pianist and composer Daahoud Salim, was created in Amsterdam in 2015. Since then, they have performed in leading concert halls and at festivals across Europe: Festival Internacional de Jazz de Madrid, Festival Internacional de Jazz de Getxo, Festival Mas i Mas at Jamboree Jazz, Bimhuis, Amersfoort Jazz Festival, Auditorio Parco dalla Musica de Roma, Silesian Jazz Festival, Katowice, Festival de Jazz de Ibiza, among others.

Their music is based on compositions by Daahoud and his father Abdu Salim, (who occasionally accompanies them on stage), one of the pioneers of Jazz in Spain, founder of the first school of Jazz of Andalusia, and a source of inspiration for the group.
