Every year there is confusion concerning where one can observe fireworks during the summer 4th of July extended holiday in the Hamptons. Wonderfully this year there are many displays all over the east end starting on July 1st and ending on July 16th. There is always a scramble during the 4th of July holiday stretch to know where and when fireworks will be happening! Therefore, this guide has been put together. It should be helpful.
It starts off with a July 1st Fireworks display by the Greenport Fire Department at 236 3rd Street in Greenport starting at 10 PM. This is a north fork favorite.
Also on July 1st is opening day of the North Sea Fire Department’s annual carnival (their biggest fundraiser of the year) located across the street from the firehouse, with rides, games, and food, and Grucci fireworks on July 1st and 3rd, around 9pm.
East Hampton’s traditional Devon Yacht Club fireworks display is scheduled for Saturday, July 2 (rain date is Sunday July 3.) Many go out on kayaks.
Then comes the Sag Harbor Yacht Club Fireworks Sunday July 3rd at 9:30 pm. The official location is 27 Bay Street, Sag Harbor. Great viewing is down on the Sag Harbor wharf. This display usually is the prelude to a celebratory night in Sag Harbor.

For actual 4th of July traditionists we have Montauk’s Fireworks by Grucci on Monday July 4th! The night is titled, “Stars Over Montauk 2022.” Again it is actually on Monday July 4th at Kirk Park Beach in Montauk at 9pm with the rain date July 5th.
On Saturday, July 9th Sunset Beach, 35 Shore Road on Shelter Island will be presenting fireworks starting at 9:30 pm.
Then on Saturday, July 19th comes the famous water extravaganza, The 3 Mile Harbor Fireworks, presented by the Grucci-Clam Foundation. The fireworks display is located off 42 Gann Road , EH but can be seen all around the 3 Mile Harbor waterfront around the huge harbor. The official start time is at 9:30 pm.
Remember to shield the ears of young children, and if in vessels stay a safe distance from the fireworks and other vessels. The last few years reminded us all of what it is like to not have freedom of assembly to sagely enjoy 4th of July Fireworks on the east end. It is an American tradition and something that we all hold dear. Hopefully you can enjoy more than one of these presentations.
