There are a few places on planet earth that are an ultimate luxury experience. When you combine a billionaire owner, a waterfront setting in Sag Harbor and a phenomenal executive chef, your left with Le Biboquet, one of, if not THE, ultimate dining location in the Hamptons. It’s a restaurant that is kind of intimidating to walk into. You are going to need a reservation for one, and good luck sweet talking your way in, it’s not happening in the summer time. This is the primo spot and reservations are a must. And the challenge of getting a reservation goes even further, as Le Bilboquet doesn’t answer the phone when you call them, you have to book online and give up your credit card, and if you’re a no show, then your going to get charged for it end of story.
With the demand for this restaurant being off the charts, just getting a table feels like an exciting accomplishment, and getting a good table, well, that’s like having all of your kids getting accepted to Harvard. But there is a reason the restaurant has a buzz, and the reason is not just the luxurious setting on the water or all of the French accented staff, but the food is out of this world.
The season is early, and so during lunch time we decided to go and check it out. We had the La Cobb Salad with grilled chicken, avocado and romaine, which is an excellent choice if your trying to keep slim and are many regulars go to lunch. The home-run dish is the cajun chicken, which comes with French fries and a side salad, along with two pieces of chicken breast that is pre cut and falls apart in your mouth like butter. It’s so fresh, so delicious. We also tried the salmon which comes with fresh artichokes, Brussels sprouts and carrots that lights up your face with citrus as you take your first bite.
It’s sensational, it’s sexy, it’s relaxing, and it’s just delicious. Le Bilboquet in Sag Harbor is in its own universe and it’s so nice to have a ticket.
