Leonard Frisbie, founded by East Hampton native Matthew Frisbie, has expanded by opening a second location in East Hampton at 55 Main Street. This new location follows the successful establishment of their flagship store in Sag Harbor at 78 Main Street in 2020.
The inspiration for Leonard Frisbie comes from Matthew’s trip to Peru twenty years ago, where he fell in love with the culture, lifestyle, and local waves. During his time in Peru, he collaborated closely with local vendors to create men’s clothing using the finest cotton and innovative fabrics made from a blend of upcycled cotton and RPET (recycled plastic water bottles). This experience laid the foundation for the brand.
The brand ethos of Leonard Frisbie can be described as “laid back luxe” and draws inspiration from both Peru and the Hamptons. The clothing is designed to be versatile, easily transitioning men from their beachwear to evening plans. The name “Leonard Frisbie” is an homage to Matthew’s grandfather, an Amagansett local. Matthew has fond summer memories from growing up at his grandfather’s beach house.

Sustainability is a key focus for Leonard Frisbie. The brand uses inventive fabrics made from a blend of upcycled cotton, and their garments are produced in facilities that adhere to high working condition standards and fair-trade certifications. Additionally, plant-based dyes are utilized to color the garments, minimizing the environmental impact.
Each style in the Leonard Frisbie collection is named after a friend or customer, adding a personal touch to the brand. The Sag Harbor and East Hampton locations offer a variety of clothing options for men, including collared shirts, polos, accessories, jackets, pants, shorts, sweaters, sweatshirts, and t-shirts.
