ATM Anthony Thomas Melillo To Make Hamptons Debut Over Memorial Day Weekend

Back in February 2012, designer Anthony Thomas Melillo launched his namesake label, ATM Anthony Thomas Melillo, at Barneys with the “perfect” t-shirt. Over the past five years the brand has expanded to a comprehensive lifestyle collection of luxurious sportswear for men and women, which is available at over 200 specialty and high end department stores – like Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue. This summer, ATM will open a permanent brick and mortar location in the Hamptons over Memorial Day weekend.

Similar to the ATM Manhattan flagship, the detail oriented Melillo supervised every aspect of ATM East Hampton, from the store’s layout to the furniture, to ensure the new Hamptons store fit in with the brand’s DNA.

“The beach is home for me and my family and I really love the cozy, local feeling,” shared Melillo. “I want to make sure the store is part of the community, just like Bostwick’s is for an early Sunday dinner with the family, ATM should be a go-to in East Hampton.”

ATM East Hampton will showcase a carefully curated selection of ATM’s men’s and women’s collections – which were manufactured in Peru using premium fabrics, from the purest Peruvian cotton to the plushest cashmere to the most magnificent silk, as well as items that are solely available in-store. “I spent months and months with the factory perfecting the weight and the fit and the drape of each of these fabrications in all of the core ATM styles, Melillo explained. “Now I go there four times a year to review production and meet with everyone.”

The new store will highlight ATM’s pre-fall 2017 collection and exclusive items, such as camo sweat suits and t-shirt dresses, exclusive body suit colors, hand painted pants and more. “These are pieces that you buy because you instantly love them,” note Melillo. “They aren’t overdesigned or complicated.” Additionally, ATM will be debuting a shoe collection tied to the opening. The collection will encompass two styles, a slip on and a lace-up, for men and women.

“The brand’s laid-back yet refined aesthetic lends itself so well to the lifestyle,” added Melillo.
