The Hamptons Jewelry Show will make its debut at the Southampton Elks fairgrounds this August.
Anticipated to be one of the highest attended events of the 2018 summer season, Rick Friedman, a Hamptons art and design fair guru, created an event that fits one of the most essential parts of Hamptons’ fashion: fine jewelry.
“We are delighted to present Hamptonites with a fresh, attendee-beneficial and disruptive show,” Friedman shared. “Fresh – because after 10 years of producing ArtHamptons, we are now focused on artists working in a different medium.”
From Thursday, August 2 through Sunday, August 5, an array of collections and pieces will be highlighted, including vintage and designer in a myriad of categories: bracelets, earrings, necklaces, chokers, rings, watches (men and women), ethnic collections, brooches, cufflinks, hairpins, slave bracelets, anklets, cameos, lockets, pendants, art jewelry, and even collectible vintage handbags.
The show is will encompass more than 90 local, national and international dealers and designers, all of whom are elite in their industry. Pieces will range from $500 to over a million dollars.
“Attending is beneficial because you buy directly from the exhibitor, and you save,” Friedman noted. “The Show is disruptive because we are pioneering a new direct to affluent customer sales channel – thus bypassing the traditional system of retailer and wholesaler. The result: fairgoers benefit.”
Another benefit of buying directly from dealers and designers is you can gain more knowledge about the history of the pieces you’re interested in.
The Thursday night opening preview (from 6 to 9:30 p.m.) will benefit the Ellen Hermanson Cancer Center at Stony Brook Southampton Hospital.
Additional special events include Appraisal Day, hosted by Heritage Auctions, on Friday, Artist Spotlight: Alexandra Mor on Friday, The Bling Fling Hamptons Social on Saturday, The Hamptons Great Gold Rush Jubilee – a benefit for The Retreat – on Saturday, a panel discussion with Collector of the Year honoree Arthur Wiener on Sunday, and Art on Fire: The Official After Show Charity Soiree, in support of Wiener Museum of Decorative Art in South Florida, on Sunday.
“Plus, we are filling the shopping extravaganza void left by Super Saturday,” he added.
The Hamptons Jewelry Show will be open on Friday, August 3 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday, August 4 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday, August 5 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Admission starts at $25.
