I’m declaring that salty hair is the newest accessory for a glass of rosé and an evening art reception. Check out everything on view in the Hamptons for the month of June below!
ABNY Gallery: “Transference”
This exhibition will show the works of artists Jeff Elrod, Lindsay Nobel, William Quigley, Lewis Saul, Kristy Schopper, Walter Schrank, Wendy White, Michael Williams, and Michael Staniak. “Transference” will be on view from June 1st through the 20th.
The Church: “Are You Joking? Women & Humor”
Chief Curator, Sarah Cochran, brings us the works of 40 female identifying artists across all mediums. The exhibition will be on display through September 1st with an evening reception being held on June 22 from 6pm to 7:30pm. Cochran says the exhibition works to tackle two themes, “The first is to counter the tired stereotypes and clichés about women not being funny or able to take a joke. The second is to illustrate the different forms and topics of humor in contemporary art from artistic jokes, political outrages, bodily functions and appearances, cultural stereotypes, and sex and death, to the absurd and surreal, puns and slapstick as well as poking fun at sacred cows of art and its institutions.”
FolioEast: “Then & Now: Artists of the Hamptons”
FolioEast and Michael Del Pierro bring us a group exhibition of five artists, Hiroyuki Hamada, Beth O’Donnell, Paul Pavia, David Slivka and Rosario Varela. This will be on view from June 7th to the 30th with an opening night reception being held from 5pm to 7pm. FolioEast gallery is located at 372 Montauk Highway in Wainscott.

Keyes Gallery: “Musée Imaginaire”
This exhibition is currently on view and will be until June 26th. Musee Imaginaire is a collection of paintings by Elisabetta Zangrandi reimaging famous self-portraits. While the opening reception already took place, the pieces can be viewed at the Keyes Gallery almost everyday from 10am to 6pm.
The Madoo Conservancy: “The Forest Leads to the Sea”
From May 24th through June 29th, curated paintings by artist Jean-Philippe Delhomme will be on view in their summer studio. In a blurb for the exhibition, the Madoo Conservancy writes that the exhibition “brings together landscape paintings executed in two locations dear to the artist’s heart, a Greek island where he sojourns several times throughout the year and the countryside around a family residence in France.”
