On Tuesday, August 27th, and Wednesday, August 28th, the North Fork TV Festival returned to Greenport, NY, for its 9th year, continuing its mission of celebrating independent storytelling and industry innovation. Known for curating independent pilots and hosting insightful discussions, the festival remains a key event in the television industry, providing a platform for emerging creatives through its annual Independent TV Pilot and Script Competition.
The festival’s opening night on Tuesday, August 27th, attracted a star-studded crowd, including actors and actresses Bridget Moynahan, Adrienne Rose White, and Stephen Moyer, among others. A highlight of the evening was the recognition of acclaimed actor Richard Schiff, who was honored as this year’s Ambassador for the Arts.
On Wednesday, August 28th, the festival continued with four dynamic panels. The day began with an Exclusive Breakfast with TV Industry Insiders, featuring Jessica Daniels and Max Jenkins at the 2024 Casting Director Panel. Attendees were then treated to an Exclusive Screening of the Winners of the Indie Pilot Series in the Comedy Category. Another major highlight was the panel titled A Journey Through The Evolution of TV with actor John Turturro, moderated by Erik Warner and Elisa DiStefano. The day concluded with a compelling discussion on Inside the Mind of TV Showrunners, sponsored by The Gersh Agency.
The festival’s closing reception was held at the Sound View Greenport, where celebrities, including Kelsey Grammer, Stephen Moyer, John Turturro, Max Jenkins, Chris Brancato, and more, gathered to help honor Oscar winning actress Marcia Gay Harden, who was awarded this year’s prestigious Canopy Award.
