Paddlers for Humanity is inviting paddlers and runners of all levels to take part in the inaugural swim, paddle, and run race on July 13 for a good cause.
Original organizers of Paddlers, owners of Exceed Physical Culture in East Hampton and Main Beach Surf & Sport in Wainscot, are putting an interesting spin on the challenge. They are encouraging friendly competition between local businesses, and coordinators would love for owners and employees of local businesses to sign up and participate the three legs as a team.
The race is to begin at Maidstone Park (Maidstone Park Road, East Hampton, NY 11937) at 9 a.m. The course is a half-mile swim, a one-mile standup paddle, and a one and a half mile run.
Paddlers for Humanity’s motto is ” Don’t Float Through Life — Paddle and Make a Difference.” The organization’s goal is to raise funds and awareness for worthy nonprofit organizations that focus on children, and the P4H East End Catastrophic Fund which provides crucial financial support to individuals and families who need immediate medical or economic assistance due to emergencies or catastrophic events.
The entry fee for each three-person team is $300. All participants are encouraged to fund-raise for the entry fee and more. For more information about Paddlers for Humanity and to register for this event, visit p4h.org or contact 917-834-3888.
