This Saturday, August 17, will mark the second annual Hamptons Paddle and Party for Pink event. The day will feature both a paddle boarding race and a sunset party, with proceeds from both events going to benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
The race will kick-off at 8 a.m., with registration at 7 a.m. (registration can also be done in advance online). The race will be held at Havens Beach in Sag Harbor and also doubles as a World Paddle Association National Qualifying Race. The Noyac Bay course is 6-miles long and can be completed in three different classes (elite, stock, and rec). An additional, a 3-mile option is available for non-competitive participants. Safety will be ensured by the East Hampton Volunteer Ocean Rescue Squad who will patrol the course with jet skis.
The race will be followed by a sunset party starting at 6:30 p.m., which will be held at the private residence of event co-chairs Lisa and Richard Perry in North Haven. The evening’s festivities will include live music provided by Tom Curren and Brendan Fallis and an auction. Charity Buzz is hosting the auction which includes prizes like backstage tickets to the Oscar De La Renta fashion show, a 3-night stay at the Solage Calistoga, courtside tickets to a New York Knicks vs Brooklyn Nets NBA game, and many more.
Special guests Laird Hamilton and Gabrielle Reece will make an appearance both at the race and the after party. Laird is known for being one of the premier big wave surfers in America, and his wife Gabrielle is a professional volleyball player.
Registration for the race and tickets for the after party can be found at: www.hamptonspaddleforpink.org.
