On Friday, August 7th, Guild Hall will host their annual Summer Gala. The evening will kickoff at 5 p.m., with a white wine reception and an exclusive preview of “Roy Lichtenstein: Between Sea and Sky” in The Museum at Guild Hall. The exhibition is a celebration of the artist’s abiding relationship with the East End of Long Island.
Following the first look, attendees will meet at a sprawling 23 acre private estate in East Hampton at 7 p.m., for an evening of signature cocktails, music by Hannah Bronfman, dinner by Sonnier & Castle, and artwork from Kaws, Annie Leibovitz, Keith Sonnier, and William Wegman, which is featured in the live auction, led by auctioneer Alec Baldwin. Artist April Gornik will host this year’s benefit, which includes a tribute by Dorothy Lichtenstein to her long-time friend Mickey Straus, in whose memory the exhibition is dedicated. Straus joined Guild Hall’s board in 1992 and served as Chair from 1995 to 2013.
Proceeds from the evening will benefit Guild Hall’s year-round programming and its mission of celebrating the performing, literary and visual artists with ties to the East End.
Tickets begin at $500.
