On Saturday, April 2nd, be prepared to crack up for a good cause when the Montauk Playhouse Community Center Foundation (MPCCF) presents an evening of comedy at Gurney’s Montauk Resort & Seawater Spa.
At 8 p.m., emcee Jeff Nichols, who has opened for Lewis Black, Pat Cooper and Robert Klein, will take the stage for a quick skit and then introduce headliner Jessica Kirson, who has appeared on The Tonight Show, The View, Last Comic Standing, and many other notable television shows. Known for her plethora of unique characters, Kirson has performed at Comedy Central’s South Beach comedy festival, Marshall’s Women in Comedy, the Montreal comedy festival and HBO’s Las Vegas comedy festival. She was chosen as “Best Female Comic” by the MAC association in New York City and was recently awarded the Nightlife Award for “Best Stand-up Comedian” in New York City. Featuring more than 100 videos, Kirson’s YouTube channel, “The Jessy K Show,” has over 2.5 million views. The not-to-be-missed night of hilarity will also include a special surprise guest.
“We’re looking forward to a fun evening at Gurney’s — filled with lots of laughs,” said Maureen Rutkowski, Project Director for the MPCCF. “We are anticipating a sell-out audience, so we definitely recommend purchasing tickets in advance on the Playhouse website.”
Tickets are $40 per person and can be purchased online, by phone, or at the door (if they’re available). Proceeds from comedy night will support the Montauk Playhouse Community Center Foundation.
Gurney’s Montauk Resort & Seawater Spa is located at 290 Old Montauk Highway in Montauk. For tickets, call 631-668-1124 or visit www.montaukplayhouse.org.
