LGBT Network Presenting Back-To-Back Memorial Day Weekend Parties

On Saturday, May 28th, the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) Network is hosting a full day of Memorial Day weekend excitement.

“We kick-off the summer season with two great events in the Hamptons that raise critical funds for the LGBT Network’s Hamptons Center in Sag Harbor – the only LGBT identified space on the East End of Long Island,” explained Robert Vitelli, Chief Operating Officer, LGBT Network. “We thank all of our sponsors, and especially our long-standing Southampton event host, LGBT civil rights and hero, Edie Windsor.”

The festivities begin with Edie’s Backyard BBQ. Taking place at the home of LGBT civil rights trailblazer Edie Windsor in Southampton, guests will gather for a classic backyard Hamptons BBQ, with all the traditional fare and fixings from 2 to 6 p.m. Proceeds from the time-honored tradition support LGBT Network’s Hamptons LGBT Center in Sag Harbor, which provides services and a safe spot for LGBT youth, adults, older adults, and LGBT-headed families of the East End year-round.

The fun will continue during a Summer Kick-Off Cocktail Reception at the Bridgehampton Tennis and Surf Club (231 Mid Ocean Drive, Bridgehampton) from 6 to 8 p.m. With stunning ocean views, signature sips, delicious bites, entertainment, and more, the soiree is surely a great way to spend a Saturday evening. Once again, proceeds from the event will benefit LGBT Network’s Hamptons Center.

The LGBT Network operates four Long Island community centers for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community. The organization provides life-changing resources for tens of thousands of LGBT and ally individuals, and also offers a meeting place where people of all ages can come and act and feel like their true selves. Additionally, LGBT Network presents weekly regularly-scheduled programs and services.
