This summer marks the 20th anniversary of the American Heart Association’s annual Heart of the Hamptons Ball. The event will take place on Saturday, June 25th from 6 to 11 p.m. at the grounds of the Hayground School. This year’s theme is “An Evening Under The Stars” and the soiree is sure to be a highlight of the summer 2016 season.
The Heart of the Hamptons Ball will honor Dr. Frank Spencer, MD, Professor of Surgery, NYU Langone Medical Center, with the Distinguished Service Award, as well as Jean Shafiroff, Humanitarian and Philanthropist, with the Humanitarian with Heart Award.
“The funds the Hamptons Heart Ball raises goes towards the important lifesaving work of the American Heart Association,” remarked Barbara Poliwoda, Regional Director for the Hamptons Heart Ball. “Some of the funds raised by the American Heart Association have helped to put defibrillators in schools, helped develop the artificial stent, pacemakers and cardiac stents. Funds have also helped to restricted smoking in public places, and provided information to the people in our community on healthy eating and signs of symptoms of a heart attack and stroke.”
This year’s Heart of the Hamptons Ball is chaired by Consuelo Vanderbilt Costin, Nicole Noonan, Randi Schatz, and Tracy Stern.
This fundraiser is best known for its elegance, fun and philanthropy focus. Its mission is to raise funds for the American Heart Association. Guests are sure to enjoy the beautiful Hamptons setting, while indulging in delicious food, delightful wine, and engaging music. The 2016 Heart of the Hamptons will feature live music by Alex Donner, a cocktail hour, seated dinner catered by The Garden City Hotel, and a live and silent auction.
“The American Heart Association’s Hamptons Heart Ball has a significant outpouring of support from the medical field – the event is filled with entertainment, fun auction items, great food and dancing,” Poliwoda added. “It is an opportunity to support the American Heart Association and have a good time while doing it.”
There’s certainly something for everyone at this memorable event.
