“We are so excited about this year’s event,” expressed Michelle Montak, Founder, Gimme Shelter Animal Rescue. “We have amazing auction items like a personal tour of NBC studios with Chuck Scarborough, weekend getaways at The Baker House in East Hampton and Gurneys in Montauk, fabulous art by renowned artists Paul Gerben and Michael Dwek and even a new Tesla for a day!”
From 4 to 7 p.m., guests will enjoy live music, hors d’oeuvres from Between the Bread, and cocktails crafted by Wainscott Main Wine & Spirits. Dog treats will also be served by “Ollie,” a new gourmet dog food company. Tesla will be featuring their newest model at the event and the silent auction will showcase an impressive roster of items that include a ride in a fighter plane, artwork by prestigious artists, and much more.
“There will be a gourmet doggie bar and dogs up for adoption,” added Montak. “Mrs. Sizzle (Suzanne Donaldson) will be attending as well as Laura Nativo who is coming from L.A for the event. Laura is a dog trainer, pet lifestyle expert, celebrity dog mom and resident pet expert and co-host of the Emmy-nominated lifestyle show, Home & Family.“
The annual event raises money to save dogs on death row that will soon be sent to kill shelters, as well as pay for medical services. As the Gimme Shelter Animal Rescue’s slogan suggests, “Saving one dog won’t change the world…but surely the world will change for that one dog.”
Tickets to the 5th Annual Summer Benefit are $200 in advance and $250 at the door.
