On Friday, July 29th, Anne Hearst McInerney and Jay McInerney will host a Hamptons Kick-off for Alzheimer’s Association Rita Hayworth Gala at their home in Water Mill from 6 to 8 p.m.
Alongside the McInerneys, Gala Founder Princess Yasmin Aga Khan, who is the daughter of Rita Hayworth, and Gala Chair Karyn Kornfeld, will host the night’s festivities. Cocktails and a silent auction will be offered at the soiree.
“For over fifteen years, my family has been supporting the Alzheimer’s Association to accelerate progress towards finding effective treatments, and ultimately a cure, for this devastating disease,” explained Kornfeld. “I am so grateful to longtime Gala Steering Committee members Anne and Jay McInerney for opening up their beautiful home for our kick-off reception to raise awareness for the Gala and the cause.”
The kick-off event will celebrate the Alzheimer’s Association Rita Hayworth Gala taking place on Tuesday, October 25th in New York City. The gala will honor President of HSN and the Chief Marketing Officer of HSN, Bill Brand, as well as former NHL player and current President of the Toronto Maple Leafs, Brendan Shanahan.
“Alzheimer’s is the only disease among the top ten causes of death in America that cannot be prevented, cured or even slowed – and everyone is at risk. So the time is truly now to take action,” added Kornfeld. “We encourage the Hampton’s community to join us in our mission to end Alzheimer’s by attending the Rita Hayworth Gala on October 25th.”
The Rita Hayworth Gala has been put on in New York City, Chicago, and Palm Beach for the last 30 years. More than $69 million has been raised to support the Alzheimer’s Association’s research efforts and programs as a result.
The Alzheimer’s Association is the largest nonprofit funder of Alzheimer’s research. The organization is dedicated “to accelerating the global progress of new treatments, preventions and ultimately, a cure.”
