October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and by attending the 6th annual “Real Men Wear Pink Cocktail Party” on Saturday, October 22nd, you can support the cause, as well as several East End organizations. Taking place at the Maidstone Club Tennis House in East Hampton from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., the evening will feature cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, raffles, a silent auction, and plenty of pink, of course.
Real Men Wear Pink was founded and is led by a local breast cancer survivor, Barbara Borsack. After being treated for cancer, she took to social media to express her interest in starting a fundraiser for women’s cancers in East Hampton. This event has raised more than $100,000 for its beneficiaries to date.
“We love the fact that the community supports it. The community not only comes to it, but they’ve been very generous with donations,” said Borsack, who is a member of Southampton Hospital’s Board of Directors. “I’m thrilled that it’s worked out so well. It’s turned into a really nice event.”
This year’s Cocktail Party will be held in loving memory of Teresa Montant, Cecelia Avallone Babinski, and Karin Anderson.
Tickets are $100 and all attendees are encouraged to wear pink! For more information or to purchase tickets, call 631-324-0803.
All proceeds from the 6th annual “Real Men Wear Pink Cocktail Party” will benefit the Coalition for Women’s Cancers at Southampton Hospital, Lucia’s Angels, and Southampton Hospital’s Ellen Hermanson Breast Center.
