Page at 63 Main is helping Sag Harbor Village pick up the pieces from the tragic Main Street fire that damaged five buildings, two of which have been demolished as a result of the fire, by hosting a fundraiser on Sunday, January 8th. Proceeds from the benefit will support the Sag Harbor Volunteer Fire Department.
“It is an opportunity to show our appreciate and gratitude for the first responders of Sag Harbor and other cities, villages, municipalities that have responded every time there was an incident – police, firemen, ambulance core,” noted Joseph Traina, owner of Page at 63 Main. “And they have sacrificed business, family and put their selves in danger to help anyone who is need of help.”
The event will begin with a two hour gathering that is open to all firefighters from local fire houses, who aided in the fight against the Main Street fire. From 3 to 5 p.m., Page will thank the heroic firefighters with hors d’oeuvres and beer and wine.
The fundraiser will be open to the community from 5 to 7 p.m. Attendees are asked to “give whatever your wallet will permit your heart to donate” as admission to the fundraiser.
“The volunteer firefighters have a great charitable organization – with the donations they obtain, they do some very altruistic, great work for children, for our local schools, so they are truly the glue in the fabric of our community that hold things together,” Traina added. “It’s just an opportunity to show our gratitude for their help during this horrific event that put a hole in the middle of our Main Street.”
