East End Hospice will host their annual summer fundraiser to benefit Camp Good Grief on Saturday, June 30 from 7 to 11 p.m. This year’s theme is Under the Palms, a tropical inspired locale that will utilize a vibrant color scheme of pinks and greens. The evening will be hosted at a waterfront estate in Quogue which has been generously donated by the Jeffrey’s. An estimated 700 local Hamptons residents attend the soiree annually.
“The location offers guests one hundred and eighty degree views of the bay and Dune Road a short distance away,” said Co-Chair, Tom Diffley. “It is an absolutely beautiful location surrounded by water fowl, birds and nature,” added Co-Chair, Betsy Bean.
The gala will feature a silent auction, a live auction for camp scholarships, a 50/50 drawing, casino games, dancing by the A & K Orchestra, catering by Robbins Wolfe Eventeurs, with wine and liquor provided by Martha Clara Vineyards, ZYR Vodka and Chatham Imports. The Master of Ceremonies for the evening is Lucas Hunt.
“We have such a committed group of friends and neighbors who support our mission and do everything in their power to make the event a successful fundraiser for such a well-regarded and honored institution,” reflected East End Hospice Board Member Carol Lee Nespole. “We could not do it without them.”
In addition, Priscilla A. Ruffin, RN, MS, NPP, President and CEO will be honored for her thirty years of service and dedication to East End Hospice. The 19th Annual Dorothy Pell Savage Good Samaritan Award will be bestowed on the Fire Departments of East Quogue, Quogue, Westhampton Beach and Eastport for services above and beyond the call of duty to their communities.
East End Hospice’s mission is to “provide care and comfort for all terminally ill patients, their families and loved ones living on the North and South Forks of Long Island, including Brookhaven Township.” The organization’s Camp Good Grief is a bereavement camp for grieving children and teenagers that is offered at no charge thanks to events like the Summer Gala and generous donors.
Under the Palms Gala is located at 40 Second Neck Lane in Quogue. For more information and tickets, call 631-288-7080 or visit www.eeh.org.
