The Center for Therapeutic Riding of the East End (CTREE) and co-chairs Tami Maines and Diana Shiel will host the eighth annual Horses Changing Lives: CTREE at Sebonack benefit on Thursday, August 23 at the Sebonack Golf Club on Southampton from 6 to 9 p.m.
“This event is CTREE’s most important fundraiser,” reflected Managing Director, Karen Bocksel. “CTREE is a not-for-profit (501c3) organization that provides therapeutic riding lessons and equine-assisted activities for children, adults and veterans with cognitive, physical or emotional disabilities.”
The Horses Changing Lives event will have a Latin flair with Brazilian Bossa Nova by Ludmilla Brazil, hors d’oeuvres, food and dessert, drinks, a silent and a live auction with winemaker and auctioneer Roman Roth.
New this year, the silent auction with go live online with 501 Auctions. The “best in the Hamptons” auction will feature prizes such as personal services, art, restaurant experiences, beauty, fitness, hotel accommodations, wine, jewelry, Hermes accessories, men’s and women’s fashion and other unique experiences.
The live auction will be only available for the event guests and includes five different vacation packages.
Other opportunities to donate include sponsoring for the care of a CTREE horse, donating the riders’ scholarship or purchasing a $100 raffle ticket for a chance to win a Hermes Birkin bag.
“We operate out of Wolffer Estate Stables in Sagaponack, NY, and all riders and programs receive scholarship assistance, and one-third of CTREE’s riders receive additional financial aid,” Bocksel added.
Tickets to CTREE at Sebonack begin at $250 and all proceeds benefit CTREE, which is the sole premier accredited member center of the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH Intl) in Suffolk County.
