Summer may still be over a month away, but Hampton Lifeguard Association (HLA) is ready to kick off the season’s celebrations. HLA will host its annual Summer Kick-Off Benefit Party at Harbor Bistro in East Hampton on Saturday, April 13 from 7 to 11 p.m.
“Hampton Lifeguard Association is excited to celebrate the Summer Kick-Off at Habor Bistro,” John Ryan Jr., Hampton Lifeguard Association, shared. “We have relocated the fundraiser this year to the beautiful waterfront setting at Harbor Bistro in East Hampton.”
The benefit will feature music by Josh Brussell, a cash bar, tasty bites and a silent and Chinese auction that will feature several covet-worthy items – from spectacular travel getaways to amazing gift baskets to restaurant gift certificates and spa treatments, and more.
“There will be some great auction items and live music for a fun night, all benefitting our lifeguard programs,” he noted.
Proceeds from the Summer Kick-Off will support HLA, whose mission is to waterproof the South Fork of Long Island. The non-profit is a chapter of the United States Lifeguard Association (USLA). HLA programming includes Lifeguard Training Program (45th year) & Tournament Competition, Junior Lifeguard Program (24th year) & Tournament Competition, Volunteer Ocean Rescue Squad (15th year), East Hampton YMCA Hurricane Swim Club (19th year) and In-school Swim Programs.
“Our mission to drownproof the South Fork is made possible by the support of all the community,” Ryan Jr. explained. “For this, Hampton Lifeguard Association owes a great deal of thanks to the Town and Village of East Hampton, the local schools, the local businesses and the parents for all the support in making this mission a success.”
Tickets are $35 per person or $50 a couple. Tickets can be purchased at the door or by contacting Hampton Lifeguard Association committee member Amy Forst at [email protected].
“Most of all, we also owe a great deal of thanks to the accomplishments of the children and young adults enrolled in the many programs offered to make this happen,” he added. “Their knowledge and skills gained are the powerhouse to safeguarding our waterfront community.”
