On Thursday, June 6, the Hudson River Health Care (HRHCare) Foundation will kick-off summer at Wölffer Estate Vineyard in Sagaponack with their fifth annual Honoring the Hands event.
Attendees will be treated to a myriad of delicious Long Island sustainably-produced rosés – from Wölffer, Channing Daughters, Palmer Vineyards, Sparkling Pointe, Bedell Cellars, Shinn Estate Vineyards, and more, as well as locally-sourced foods, and live music.
“This event is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy some of the finest rosés and food that Suffolk County has to offer, while supporting a very important cause,” Anne Kauffman Nolon, MPH, HRHCare CEO, relayed.
Proceeds will support the HRHCare Foundation’s Agricultural Worker’s Health Fund, which offers essential primary and preventive care year-round at the ten HRHCare health centers located throughout Suffolk County, and through the Days of Health Program and mobile health center. At the moment, HRHCare serves nearly 5,000 agricultural workers in Suffolk County alone.
“HRHCare is committed to ensuring continued access to the health care services the region’s agricultural workers need and deserve,” Kauffman Nolon noted.
For those up on their local wines, partake in the tasting notes matching game. Guests can also explore Wölffer and the HRHCare mobile health center.
“Our thanks to Wölffer Estate Vineyards and our other farm and vineyard partners who help make this special night possible,” Kauffman Nolon added.
Through partnerships with the local farm and vineyard owners, HRHCare is able to provide assistance directly to agricultural workers and their families onsite at farms, vineyards, community agencies, and churches throughtout Long Island.
There will also be a “Vine of Hope” – where attendees can “harvest” an off the vine, which will support the cost of specific initiatives.
Tickets to Honoring the Hands are $125.
