More than 400 party-goers are expected to descend upon the Quogue Wildlife Refuge on Saturday, July 13 in support of the Refuge’s 13th Annual Wild Night for Wildlife Benefit Gala.
“The Benefit Gala is the most significant fundraising event for the Refuge, and is instrumental in allowing the facility to remain open and accessible to all, year-round,” explained Refuge Executive Director Michael J. Nelson. “The Quogue Wildlife Refuge is a special place, and I am grateful for all of the support from our community.”
Starting at 7 p.m., the fabulous evening will include live music performed by NOIZ, delicious hors d’oeuvres courtesy of Justin of Justin’s Chop Shop, Hampton Organic Farms, and Keenan’s Oyster Company, tasty desserts from Tate’s Bake Shop and Basic Sugar, local wine and beer, and a myriad of spectacular auctions – live, silent and chance.
Jim Cramer of CNBC’s Mad Money and Bill Ritter of Channel 7 Eyewitness News will lead this year’s live auction.
And, since the soiree is taking place at the Refuge, attendees will have the unique chance to meet some of the amazing animals that call the 305-acre expanse of protected land home. Wild Night for Wildlife will be held alongside the historic Old Ice Pond, so attendees will have the opportunity to check out the extraordinary Butterfly Garden and stunning grounds of the nature preserve.
Founded in 1934, the Quogue Wildlife Refuge is a 300 acre non-profit nature preserve that is open 365 days a year. Home to an array of wildlife, refuge guests can explore miles of trails where they will find a myriad of habitats, including forests and ponds, as well as the ecologically rare Dwarf Pines in the Pine Barrens. The Refuge’s mission is “to serve as a responsible land steward of the Refuge property and its natural resources, while promoting, implementing and supporting environmental education.”
Tickets to Wild Night for Wildlife start at $175, however, those that purchase a Naturalist Level or higher, will be invited to a special VIP Reception on the Deck at 6 p.m.
Quogue Wildlife Refuge is located at 3 Old Country Road in Quogue. For more information, call 631-653-4771 or visit quoguewildliferefuge.org.
