LGBT Network will host its annual Sunset on the Harbor benefit on Saturday, July 20 at Breakwater Yacht Club in Sag Harbor.
“The LGBT Network is honoring CNN Anchor Don Lemon at its Sunset on the Harbor event at the Breakwater Yacht Club in Sag Harbor, an event known for its celebrity sightings, live entertainment, and low-key nature,” Robert Vitelli, MA, LGBT Network Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer, shared.
In addition to fêting Lemon, the evening will feature an open bar, including sips from Bedell Cellars and Montauk Brewing Co., light fare presented by five-star Hampton’s Chefs, courtesy of the JK Chef, live entertainment – Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers made a surprise appearance last year – a silent auction, and hopefully, depending on Mother Nature, a spectacular sunset.
Originally known as LIGALY, in 2005 the organization partnered with The Center and SAGE-LI to form the LGBT Network whose mission is to unite these non-profits to expand its reach across the Long Island LGBT Community. The LGBT Network’s East End base, The Hamptons Center, offers a variety of services, which aim to decrease isolation and provide support and a safe space for LGBT youth, adults, older adults, and families to feel at home at.
“Proceeds are earmarked to support three key programmatic goals of sustaining a weekly LGBT youth group, delivering more anti-bullying workshops in schools and organizations throughout the East End, and launching a transportation program to help more LGBT youth access the organization’s Hamptons Center in Sag Harbor,” Vitelli added.
Sunset on the Harbor will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. Tickets start at $100.
