New Hamptons Nightclub, A.M. Southampton, To Light Up The Rest Of Your Summer

Managing partner of Exit Hospitality Group, LLC and co-founder of premier music and nightlife venue, A.M. Southampton, Richie Hosein is making a name for himself in the Hamptons community. His great success can be attributed to his extensive skill set as an entrepreneur and passion for nightlife and entertainment.

A.M. Southampton is one of the hottest venues in the Hamptons this summer. Hosein launched the new venture with Hamptons nightlife veteran Zach Erdem. They held 17 parties with 780 visitors in their debut month, including 457 hours of music played. Located at a convenient East End locale, A.M. Southampton is sure to end your week on the right note.

A.M. Southampton has been Hosein’s dream since he was young and nightlife has always been part of his family’s culture. “I grew up in a Caribbean family. We’re from a small island called Trinidad and Tobago. Our heritage is based on music, entertaining, and hospitality. As a child, my parents would have parties and host people,” reflected Hosein. “This is a tradition in the Caribbean to get people together and create unique memories. In middle school, I was told to make a time capsule and they gave us a bunch of questions. Recently, my sister sent me this time capsule and it said, ‘What do you want to be when you grow up?’ and one of the answers was ‘I want to be a club owner.’ I love music, entertaining and hospitality, so those are things that truly inspired me to one day have a club.”

Hosein’s passions also lay outside the hospitality field. He is the President of TRE Medical, a leading medical device sales consultancy. While working his way up, Hosein has learned how important it is to give back to the community. He has achieved a great amount of fulfillment by helping others through his work.

Hosein’s personal philosophy is to “provide a valuable product or service better than anyone else. Treat your employees better than they have been treated before and provide your investors with solid, residual returns on their money.”

Apart from his work in the hospitality and medical fields, Hosein is involved with Urban Tech, a charity that helps underprivileged children in New York City who have limited access to technology. Hosein also enjoys hitting the gym and spending time with his two sons.

His goal for A.M. Southampton is for it to become a Hamptons staple as well as to expand the venue to other major cities in the U.S., such as New York City, Las Vegas, and potentially on an international basis.

When asked what sets A.M. Southampton apart, Hosein remarks, “We’re trying to create memorable experiences. Nightlife takes all different shapes and forms, but our goal at A.M. Southampton is to create experiences that touch all your senses, whether it be sight or bringing in artists from around the world to play at our venue. We’re doing it from every aspect and we’re trying to really enhance every sense to give a unique and memorable experience.”

Being a part of a team is also something Hosein understands very well, as he played on a Division 1 college athletic team. A.M. Southampton is known for its impeccable customer service, and Hosein believes this success is due to the hotspot’s strongly unified team. “I’m proud of the team we’ve built at A.M. Southampton,” said Hosein. “At the end of the day, it comes down to the people you work with, how you treat them, and how they feel every single day.”

Hosein and his team are committed to making A.M. Southampton a highlight of the Hamptons summer, but they also have big dreams for expansion in the future.

“Being competitive by nature is really important for me,” admitted Hosein. “We’re always looking for new ways to expand and ensure that the experiences people are having with our services are truly memorable. As a competitive person, these things are important to me. They give me fulfillment.” He’s always searching for unique ways to make his ventures stand out. “I’m looking for ways to be different and also create better experiences,” Hosein added. “One thing I’ve learned is to never be afraid to ask questions of your people. Ask, ask your clients…ask what you’re missing.”

A.M. Southampton is located at 125 Tuckahoe Lane in Southampton. For more information or to book a table, call 516-492-0346 or visit www.amsouthampton.com.

  • Sixty-Something: A Tapestry of Historic Hamlets

The future is always in front and somewhat unknown. We live in the now, but the past is a collection of lessons learned and hopefully preserved to be remembered for pretext and guidance.

The east end is chock full of vibrant history and a wonderful now and, I believe, a promising future. My east end journalistic journey of the last twenty years has awarded me the opportunity to investigate, interview, and get to observe the events, the folks and the ways of life of the east end.
