The sheer volume of Hamptons Memorial Day weekend happenings will most likely cause FOMO. If you’re trying to get a grasp on what’s going on where, here’s your holiday weekend roundup.

Montauk:

Sloppy Tuna (148 South Emerson Avenue, Montauk, www.lisloppytuna.com) will kick-off the festivities a little early with ladies night on Thursday. Friday brings “get up to get down” from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. – with a live DJ, and then it’s Sloppy Saturdays with DJ Drazen from 12 to 4 p.m., followed by a chill reggae Sunday. Wrap up with weekend with a beach party on the patio on Monday. Additionally, catch live sets from Dave Higgins band on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

The Montauk Beach House (55 South Elmwood Avenue, Montauk, thembh.com) is toasting to Montauk-based artist Grant Monahan, whose work will be featured in Elsewhere, on Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. The exhibition will be on display through June 13. On Saturday, The MBH is hosting the original Montauk Saturday Pool Party, which starts at 1 p.m.

The Surf Lodge’s (183 Edgemere Street, Montauk, thesurflodge.com) Summer Concert Series launches with singer and songwriter Parson James – who likes to call his music “conflicted pop gospel” – on Saturday. Jessie J will treat the audience to her new single Queen and hits like Bang Bang and Flashlight on Sunday and Australian duo Yolanda Be Cool will headline on Monday – which will also feature Ben Watts’ annual Aussie BBQ, presented with downtown hotspot the Flower Shop. Additional programming includes an invitation-only Hampton Water rosé dinner hosted by co-founder Jesse Bongiovi and Casa de Praia in the Gallery.

Gurney’s Montauk Resort & Seawater Spa (290 Old Montauk Highway, Montauk, www.gurneysmontauk.com) has a jam-packed schedule of programming planned. DJ Stef Nava is at The Regent Fire Pit on Friday, while Saturday brings Viceroy & Wilki to The Beach Club and Rakiem Walker, Biz Markie and Stef Nava to The Regent Fire Pit. On Sunday, guests are invited to a waterfront lobster bake with live music at Gurney’s Resorts’ newest property – Gurney’s Montauk Yacht Club & Resort. Additionally, for those looking to work on their wellness over the holiday weekend, Gurney’s X RUMBLE Boxing is making its debut over Memorial Day – with instructor Jeremiah Maestre who will lead classes on Saturday at 10 a.m. and Sunday at 11 a.m. Jen Atkin’s OUAI is taking up a summer residency at OUAISPACE at Gurney’s, as is Higher Dose, the premier infrared sauna spas.

In addition to the lobster clambake, Gurney’s Montauk Yacht Club & Resort (32 Star Island Road, Montauk, www.gurneysresorts.com) will have sets from DJ Nicole Leone and Coco Robert at The Pool Club, Tonehouse classes, beachfront yoga and standup paddle boarding.

The Backyard Restaurant at Solé East Resort (90 Second House Road, Montauk, www.soleeast.com) will launch its programming with a DJ on Friday from 7 p.m. to closing, a poolside DJ set on Saturday from 1 to 6 p.m., followed by Alfredo Merat, acoustic, from 6 to 9 p.m., and a set from DJ Samantha Michelle from 9 p.m. to closing. Sunday marks the start of the Bossa Nova Poolside Brunch with Marcello and Ludmilla, which will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. A poolside set will follow from 2 to 6 p.m.

Ruschmeyer’s (161 2nd House Road, Montauk, www.ruschmeyers.com) is partnering with Williamsburg’s Freehold for a brunch series with bites and booze, obviously, games, hopefully lots of sunshine, music, and more. The series will be held Saturday through Monday, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Additionally, before you brunch it up, head to Drunk Yoga, and yes, it’s exactly what you’re thinking. Classes will be held on Saturday and Sunday at 10 a.m.

For music with a view, George’s Lighthouse Café (2000 Montauk Highway, Montauk, www.georgeslighthousecafe.com) will have Waylon Brothers (from 1 to 4 p.m.) and The Sturdy Souls (from 4 to 8 p.m.) on Saturday and Jettykoon (from 1 to 4 p.m.) and Nancy Atlas (from 4 to 8 p.m) on Sunday.

I’m writing this on a computer I got from GeekHampton, and geewhiz, it rocks. If you live in the Hamptons, you know how important it is to have real, trusted local businesses. That brand activation won’t help if my computer won’t charge; an interior decorator can’t help unbrick your vintage Mac. So, having GeekHampton in the community since 1999 is an understated but undeniably essential luxury.

Jue Lan Club Southampton Celebrates Summer 2018 With Grand Opening Party

  • The Second Saturday Market sells everything from ceramics, art, swimwear, and jewelry behind Mary Lou’s in Montauk. There’s live music, custom embroidery, and an acai bar. You can shop at the Second Saturday Market every 2nd Saturday of the month this summer. The next Second Saturday Market will take place on August 8th.

  • Any reason to visit @montaukyachtclub is a good one, especially when there’s great art from @joehenrybaker, @stgermaindrinks cocktails, and a “killa” pair of new shades from @akila.la.

The beachfront ballroom recently hosted an exhibition of Joe Henry Baker’s large-scale abstract works: muted, tactile, and calming without disappearing into the room. Hot take: replace the enormous black rectangle above your fireplace—sometimes called a TV—with one of his pieces. The evening also marked the start of AKILA Eyewear’s summer pop-up, with handmade, adventure-ready frames that are polished enough for the Hamptons but practical enough to enjoy wearing.

Life—and art—just looks better through a pair of AKILA sunglasses.

  • What started as a personal idea rooted in love and connection has evolved into a refined jewelry brand that blends meaning with timeless design. Founded by Melanie Bronfman, Stella James was created to offer something more than traditional fine jewelry with pieces that feel personal and meaningful while maintaining an elevated aesthetic meant to be worn every day.

Inspired by both New York’s sophistication and the relaxed elegance of the Hamptons, the brand balances strength and softness. Signature diamond letter pieces have become a defining element of the collection, designed to represent identity, memory, and the people we carry with us.

As Stella James continues to grow, Melanie remains focused on craftsmanship, storytelling, and creating pieces that feel both modern and lasting. She spoke more about the inspiration behind the brand, her design philosophy, and how Stella James fits seamlessly into everyday style from city life to summer days out East.

Can you share the story behind Stella James, when you launched, and what inspired you to create the brand?

MB: Stella James was born from a deeply personal place. I wanted to create something that allowed me to carry a symbol of the people I love most with me, every day. What began as a personal idea designing a meaningful piece tied to my children evolved into a brand rooted in emotion, craftsmanship, and timeless design. We launched with the intention of creating jewelry that doesn’t just look beautiful, but feels significant.

  • We visited Gigi’s at Gurneys to check out what’s on the menu this summer. Looking for fresh fish and lobster with sublime views of the ocean? Run, don’t walk.

  • Last week, Stacey Bendet held a stunning poolside celebration at her Watermill home, signaling the official start of the summer season. DJ Jordan Emanuel from Bravo’s Summer House kept the energy high while guests sipped on LALO cocktails and Wölffer’s iconic wines. Guests were treated to custom bikini charms by Dorne, lymphatic massages, games of beer pong, and a Farmers Daughter pop-up.

  • There are restaurants that simply serve a meal, and then there are restaurants that create an unbelievable memory and experience. Lulu Kitchen & Bar in Sag Harbor is the latter. I recently stopped in for lunch with my co-worker, Val, and from the moment we walked through the door, it was clear why this has become one of the Hamptons’ most celebrated dining destinations.

One of Lulu’s defining features is its commitment to wood-fired cooking. Nearly everything is prepared over a live fire using actual wooden logs, giving the food a distinctive depth of flavor that is difficult to replicate. You can actually see the flames working behind the scenes, adding to the experience.

Lulu also features a fantastic bar with an impressive selection of local craft beers alongside outstanding international offerings, making it just as appealing for an afternoon drink as it is for a full meal.
