Mayor Michael Bloomberg had the honor of flipping the switch to illuminate the 2013 Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree. This year, the 76-foot Norway Spruce was brought in from Shelton, Connecticut. The 12-ton tree is topped with a 9 ½-foot-wide Swarovski and covered with 45,000 multi-colored LED lights. Mariah Carey, Mary J. Blige, Jewel, the Goo Goo Dolls, and Leona Lewis were among performers during the lighting ceremony.
