People forget how amazing life is in Springs. After my move from Sag Harbor Village to Clearwater Beach in Springs, let me tell you, I could not be happier! Life is a little slower, and my commute to Bridgehampton is a little longer, but I’m not complaining since I get to drive by Three Mile Harbor Marina twice daily. Living in Springs, I feel at home.
Anyone I ask about Springs always says something like, “low key,” “chill,” or “relaxing.” I like these adjectives very much and absolutely agree. Yes, Sag Harbor is easily the most charming town I’ve ever lived in…but have you ever tried to park in July? While I miss being in the heart of the Village, life in Springs has been everything I could have ever wanted and more.
A word to the wise, people from Springs NEVER call it “The Springs.” IYKYK.
Growing up on the East Coast, Springs reminds me of home. Lush, winding roads connect quiet neighborhoods. Kids wait on corners for the bus, and young couples jog. I love hiking and exploring the trails as they snake through nature reserves and historic farms, eventually leading to the bay.
“It’s easy to love living here,” adds Romaine Gordon, veteran real estate agent and longtime Lion Head Beach Community in Springs. “I love introducing this charming community, it represents so much of what makes The Hamptons special—quiet, peaceful, surrounded by the water, and close to East Hampton and Amagansett Villages. Clearwater Beach—and Springs—is much more than just a summer community.”
For Summer renters, Springs is a slam dunk.
In Clearwater Beach, it seems like every weekend has a yard sale, clam bake, or community event. Plus, the neighborhood has its own private beach park where I can grill, play basketball, go swimming, or launch a boat. Everything leads to the water!
I’m definitely not alone—Springs is one of the Hamptons’ most up-and-coming hamlets, with lots of new listings and new construction on the market, especially in Clearwater Beach. I caught up with Saunders & Associates’ Jennifer Wilson of the Wilson Team at a recent open house for her co-exclusive listing at 60 Kings Point Road. “This jewel is 100% turnkey and ready for Hamptons living immediately. This renovation has it all, wide open spaces, beaming natural light, and brand-new luxe amenities, including a fully cleared backyard and a large sunny pool. Practically everywhere you turn, the neighborhood streets lead to the water.”
The Wilson Team also exclusively represents 280 Kings Point Road. “Buyers are, of course, impressed with how close to the water you are here—just half a mile from the Clearwater marina. Quiet, bright, and by the water—that’s Hamptons living.”
Another new construction at 1179 Springs Fireplace Road represented by Ed Bruehl and William Schumann, highlights the underlying value of the hamlet. “In Springs, the gorgeous beaches offer calm protected waters and e unbeatable sunsets over Gardiners Bay.”
“Gerard Drive, one of the most iconic yet under-the-radar spots in the Hamptons, is minutes from here. Head the other direction, through the quiet and charming Clearwater Beach neighborhood, the community Marina is such a highlight for residents who get exclusive access to this private beach, marina, and facilities.”
I have been impressed by how much there is to do living in Springs. Being so close to the restaurants and shops in the Village was great, but I’m still able to bike to Springs Tavern—which has a welcoming, neighborhood bar feeling I love. Being closer to Montauk has its obvious advantages as well, I’m just 10 minutes from Stephen Talkhouse and Rosies—two of my favorite places in the Hamptons.
Exploring Springs is a great way to spend an afternoon at the many cafes, museums, and parks dotting the East Hampton Hamlet. Known as an artist colony, the Springs Historic District hosts lots of activities and events throughout the year at Ashawagh Hall and the Pollack-Krasner Museum, to name a few.
