Where did the stacking trend come from?
Stacking isn’t really a trend, so much as a styling choice! The best part about stacking is that it can accommodate any aesthetic— for a more subdued stack, someone may wear a simple band with their engagement ring.
For a more statement stack, someone could mix different metals, stone shapes, and setting styles!
Is any ring stackable or are there some styles that should stand alone?
A stackable ring generally has a smooth or flat edge, which lends itself to being worn with other pieces.
A stand-alone style would be something wide or “statement” where it looks better on its own than stacked with other rings.
Style a stack using rings from your SG Fine collection?
I love this stack shown here because it ties into the larger pear statement ring and still has its own flair.
I styled all three bands in yellow gold for uniformity since each has a very different style.
From top to bottom:
Should you stack both hands or just one?
I’m a more user more kind of girl! So for me it’s just about finding the right balance amongst your fingers. Generally I would stack “heavily” on one finger per hand and keep the other fingers lighter.
Thoughts on Midi rings?
I’m personally not a fan— they look great, but they tend to fall off really easily.
