“I want these concerts to be a special lively interactive one to one experience,” said singer/songwriter Joan Armatrading. “I have absolutely enjoyed the last 42 years of performances but now, with my final major tour, I want to capture a unique memory for both myself and the audience.”
Armatrading, who has toured for over forty years, is performing at Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center (WHBPAC) for what could be the last time on Saturday, April 11th at 8 p.m. The show, which is part of her last major world tour, will be her first solo concert ever.
“I will never retire but this will be the last major tour that I will undertake,” noted Armatrading. “For the first time these concerts will be me solo on stage playing the guitar and piano and singing.”
Throughout her lengthy career, the singer has reached millions of fans worldwide with her twenty full-length releases that range from true soul to sophisticated pop. Armatrading has received three Grammy nominations, a Brit Award nomination, and has received the highly desirable Ivor Novello Award and Gold Badge Award. The talented musician was even honored by the Queen of England, receiving an MBE, the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire.
Tickets are $70, $85 and $95.
