Petite Soiree Musicale, The Rising Stars Piano Series’ annual fundraiser, returns to the Southampton Cultural Center (SCC) on Saturday, November 10.
“Over 16 seasons, The Rising Stars Piano Series has brought the world’s brightest young stars to Southampton,” noted Konstantin Soukhovetski, who is among the evening’s special guests. “Founded by pianist Liliane Questel, the series champions versatile and singular talent among the very best pianists of a new generation.”
For Petite Soiree Musicale, Rising Stars has curated an exceptional line-up of guest performers that includes Konstantin, Keru Zhang, Jessica Fishenfeld, and Dr. Michael Errico. The evening, which will be hosted by Questel, a SCC board member, will also include light refreshments and a terrific silent auction.
“Many are alumni of Pianofest in the Hamptons which has nourished the talents of the world’s best young musicians for 31 years,” Soukhovetski added. “We are thrilled to continue to elevate the spirits of our community with sublime music and warm fellowship.”
Zhang, who has dazzled Hamptons audiences at both Pianofest and Rising Stars, will showcase Hungarian Rhapsody by Liszt, while Fishenfeld, a New York City-based opera singer and actor, will enchant the audience with I could have danced all night, Summertime and a delightful aria by Rossini. Guests will be riveted with Dr. Errico’s reading of excerpts from West Side Story and the evening will culminate with cabaret from Soukhovetski, who will give an encore performance of a portion of his residency at the Southampton Inn’s Claude’s this past summer.
Tickets to Petite Soiree Musicale are $35 per person and the benefit begins at 6 p.m.
The Rising Stars Piano Series’ mission is to “focus on performance opportunities primarily for participants and alumni of Pianofest of the Hamptons.” During 2018, the Series welcomed Tomer Gewirtzman, Alevtyna Dobina, Matthew Maimone, Niccolo Ronchi, and Do-Hyun Kim. Pianofest of the Hamptons is a summer festival, held June through August, that offers weekly concerts at various Hamptons venues with a curated selection of emerging pianists.
